Oh wow, what a treat
If this is your first time hearing this album, man am I jealous. My first time was in my first year of uni, alone in my dorm, pretty stoned, with NO idea what I was about to hear.
My geeky friend hooked my up with a shitload of random music, mostly Japanese stuff, some rocky / hardcore stuff too, quite alot of random nonsense but amongst the mass of tunes was a shiney glimmering pearl of an album.
It popped on my winamp and opened with aural build of suspense and anticipation; directly paralelled by my impending boner.
BAM into ‘And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman’ - and by the time I hear screams Im totally sold and I’ve a mighty rock-on in my pants.
The best dualing vocalist combo since Alexisonfire, Jonny Craig and Jonathon Mess tear shit up left right and centre while guitars riff, sweep and tinkle their way around the fretboards.
You’ll try and comprehend what your hearing, if guitars are following vocal patterns or if drums are synchronising with guitars but just forget about it, smile and let it happen.
Each tune off the album has one specific part; a juicy bit. They work musical suspense so well, building to these climaxes that when they kick in, oh man its just mint.
